ZALSA uses a blend of many spices. Many studies on spices have shown positive aspects on human health.
Cinnamon: Studies have shown that even 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon a day can allow the spice to "... help lower the risk of the constellation of factors associated with metabolic syndrome - high blood cholesterol, triglyceride and glucose levels - by as much as 10 to 30 percent. Cinnamon aides digestion and relieves gas. Cinnamon fights colds, coughs, and fevers.
In very recent research we've discovered that cinnamon also helps reduce blood sugar levels. The Diabetic Association has acknowledged this as well. Some scientists are suggesting that a half teaspoon of cinnamon per day, sprinkled on cereals, lattes, desserts, and yogurt, can help to prevent the onset of adult type 2 diabetes.
Ginger, whose significant ingredient is called gingerol, has been known to significantly help with nausea, vomiting, and motion sickness. Gingerol is a powerful anti-oxidant with cancer-fighting attributes that may even help prevent Alzheimer's.
Turmeric: It is a miracle spice. Used widely in Indian foods, it has been shown to reduce the risk of developing many types of cancers, improves memory functions, reduces the risk of developing Alzheimers disease, detoxifies liver, and reduces the effect of aging on the skin.
